Dear Vachel,  Let the Bread's Rhyme

I am longing for disturbing evening

Miserable floating in regardless owl weeping

Lost boy with lost path

Dying in the hands of wrath

I am longing for Your existance

But no one comes over

Except you the lost one like me

You're not Imogen

The one I need most.

Carpe Diem I

Jikalau,

Dalam rasa cinta terjadi pengorbanan-pengorbanan

Yang bertentangan dengan insting

Dan kemauan untuk menilai,

Egoisme itu

Menerangi nalar alam dan binatang.

Jikalau,

Dalam sejarah terjadi suatu keadaan-keadaan

Yang bukan dari akibat perjuangan sebelumnya

Heroisme

Tidak akan menumbuhkan sebatang semak

Sekalipun.

Jikalau hal itu terjadi,

Maka manusia dapat menyaksikan

Akan campur tangan Tuhan

Secara murni dalam sejarah.

Ia tidak hanya menjadikan kecenderungan

Yang tinggi menjadi rendah

Tetapi sesuatu yang baru sama sekali.

Baik dalam penciptaan

Ataupun manusia dalam perjalanan kembalinya.

Romance

Romance, who loves to nod and sing
With drowsy head and folded wing
Among the green leaves as they shake
Far down within some shadowy lake,
To me a painted paroquet
Hath been—most familiar bird—
Taught me my alphabet to say,
To lisp my very earliest word
While in the wild wood I did lie,
A child—with a most knowing eye.

Of late, eternal condor years
So shake the very Heaven on high
With tumult as they thunder by,
I have no time for idle cares
Through gazing on the unquiet sky;
And when an hour with calmer wings
Its down upon my spirit flings,
That little time with lyre and rhyme
To while away—forbidden things—
My heart would feel to be a crime
Unless it trembled with the strings.
